The Cool Pool of the Week: The Miami Beach EDITION

At The Miami Beach EDITION, the feeling of historic Miami Beach glam mixed with modern day luxury is the appeal to Millennials that choose to vacation at this Ian Schrager oceanfront resort.

Guests of the hotel can dip their feet into two pools, dine at the outdoor restaurant and bar and enjoy direct beach access.

Due in part to the Miami Beach Historic Preservation League, the South Pool is fully restored with a period two-tiered diving board that dates back to when the building was previously the historic, Art Deco-style Seville Hotel.

The concrete pool is surrounded by custom teak lounges and a series of private cabanas with oversized daybeds. The original Seville Hotel pool was upgraded with the opening of The Miami Beach EDITION with underwater speakers that allow guests to enjoy the curated playlist exuding authentic Caribbean vibes even when they’re submerged.

The new North Pool, which officially opened in December of 2014, sits below Matador Terrace, where hotel guests can sunbathe and take a dip in the larger of the two pools. Next to the historic pool, the outdoor restaurant and bar, appropriately named Tropicale, was inspired by the legendary 1950s Havana nightclub Tropicana and offers hotel guests light bites, like seasonal stone crab claws, tuna tartare, salads, sandwiches, super slushies, refreshing cocktails, wine and EDITON signature beer, Iguanita.

Located on top of Tropicale, the sundial is also a preserved landmark from the Seville Hotel, which has cushioned seating around the base, making a perfect ocean view lounging spot while also overlooking the pools. Guests can select light and fresh bites, like the vegetable crudité, sweet pea guacamole and tortillas, sorbet, popsicles, rosé, sangria and signature cocktails from the Beach Menu.
