Fairmont Opens Singapore Hotel, Signals Asia Expansion

Fairmont Singapore opened its doors on Wednesday, the group's first luxury hotel to open in Asia. Ensuing Asia projects include Fairmont Beijing, Fairmont Peace Hotel, Shanghai and a property on Macao's Cotai strip.

Fairmont Singapore is located within the Raffles City complex. (Raffles is a sister brand to Fairmont after the latter was acquired by Colony Capital and Kingdom Hotels International in January 2006.) The 769-room Fairmont Singapore features rooms with balconies offering panoramic views of the city's skyline and Marina Bay. There also are 17 restaurants and the Willow Stream Spa.
