The Golden Rock Resort Hires Director Of Sales & Marketing

Golden Rock Nature & Dive Resort in the Caribbean’s St. Eustatius ("Statia") has appointed Sally Glen as its director of sales and marketing. With an illustrious career developing sales strategies for several luxury hospitality brands, Glen will apply her business acumen as the resort prepares for its grand opening this winter.

“I’m excited to be working on such a stunning property and eager to help spread awareness of Statia’s rich history and biodiversity to intrepid travelers. It’s an island that deserves so much more recognition on the global stage,” said Glen.

Glen began her international hospitality career in 2007 upon selection for the Marriott Voyage Graduate Management Program and quickly worked her way up the ranks from F&B operations, rooms operations, and finally into sales and marketing at the Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel at Circular Quay. She spearheaded several multi-property roles with Accor International in Australia, before moving to Scotland for her most recent position as regional sales manager for Gleneagles, where she oversaw the entirety of the highly competitive European, Australian and Asian markets. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Glen is an avid sailor and scuba diver.

“We’re thrilled to add Sally to our growing executive team at Golden Rock Resort. In addition to her decades-long career, she shares the same passion for boosting the destination’s tourism in a way that preserves the authentic island experience,” said Peter Barnhoorn, CEO of Golden Rock Resort.

The Golden Rock Resort, which opened its first phase in September 2021 with 32 ocean-view suites, an infinity pool, tennis courts, wellness club, sustainable systems and waterfront restaurant Breeze, is set to debut this winter and will include 26 villas and 17 lodges, beach club, “yoga shala” and a greenhouse. The boutique hilltop resort spans 40 acres of gardens and is situated near the island’s signature “Quill,” the dormant volcano that’s one of the Caribbean’s most popular hiking spots.

Under Glen’s leadership, the property will continue to attract international travelers and adventure-focused groups that sustain and celebrate Statia’s culture.
