Hacienda Barrigona Resort Launches in Costa Rica

Hacienda Barrigona, a 500-acre, nature-enthusiasts' resort, has opened a half-hour away from the town of Nosoara in Costa Rica—surrounded by lush jungle and the private Barrigona Beach. The resort says guests are invited to explore, create, play, celebrate life or simply do nothing at all.

Nestled into the jungle canopy, Hacienda Barrigona is part of a multidimensional setting with waterfront views over Barrigona Beach.

Accommodations include 10 rooms in three traditionally designed Costa Rican villas. Common areas consist of pools with lounge and BBQ areas; a communal open-air dining space provides three family-style meals daily, while two Bali-inspired open-air studios invite guests for yoga and meditation. Tailor-made experiences available by the property’s staff include weddings and private retreats.

Hacienda Barrigona can also help create bespoke and tailor-made experiences aimed at adventure, self-reflection, romance or a larger group retreat, including surfing, yoga, meditation, mangrove paddle boarding, hiking, diving, fishing and exploring the resort’s jungle and ocean setting.

Rates start at $245 per guestroom per night for any of the three villas, including three communal, family-style meals daily for two people.

In other Costa Rica news, the nation recently announced its National Decarbonization Plan, a sustainability plan spanning the next 31 years. Already, Costa Rica is on its way to being carbon neutral by 2021.
