Kempinski to Debut Cabrits Resort & Spa in Dominica October 14

On October 14, 2019, Kempinski Hotels’ newest property, Cabrits Resort & Spa Kempinski Dominica, will open its doors to guests. The hotel will be Kempinski’s second Caribbean venture and its first property in Dominica. Guests can begin booking reservations now for the resort’s October debut.

The resort has 151 guestrooms and suites, including deluxe and superior rooms with mountain or ocean views, as well as two-bedroom duplexes and villas. Inspired by the island’s natural beauty, each room is designed in palette of coastal colors, detailed wood accents and natural lighting. Guests will also find flatscreen televisions, Wi-Fi service, in-room espresso machines and bath amenities.

The 4,585-square-foot Presidential Villa has ocean views, butler service, a private lobby entrance, two bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms, a dining room, a private spa room with sauna and a terrace for outdoor dining, complete with a grill and private pool. A private chef is also available upon request.

Additionally, guests can relax at the 18,000-square-foot Kempinski Spa. Guests may select from indoor and outdoor wellness experiences or choose a culturally inspired treatment from the spa’s menu.

Restaurants and Bars

The resort’s three restaurants offer both local and international cuisine, as well as “farm-to-table” and “sea-to-table” dining.

The resort’s signature restaurant, Cabrits Market, provides an ambiance of vibrant colors and flavors meant to be indicative of a Creole market. The buffet stations include a variety of international fare, Italian, barbeque, as well as Creole-themed dinner and brunch.

The Kweyol Beach Café offers a mix of Creole dishes, international favorites and home-made ice cream flavors, such as coconut.

Bonsai serves Pan-Asian cuisine as an alternative to the resort’s main restaurant and beach bar. Bonsai offers sushi, sashimi, satays, Thai curries, wok-sautéed dishes and more.

With both indoor and outdoor seating, the Rumfire Bar serves as the place to end the day. The bar’s mixologist prepares both classic cocktails and original creations utilizing local Caribbean rums and dark spirits.

Meetings and Events

The resort has 8,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, including beach, pool and lawn venues, for weddings and celebrations. There are also three meeting rooms, a boardroom and an outdoor amphitheater. The events team can assist in choosing the right venue and menus based on party size and preferences.

The Destination

Dominica hosts a variety of flora and fauna, including rare plants, animals and bird species. The island is protected by an extensive natural park system that encompasses three national parks, two forest reserves and the Syndicate Parrot Reserve. Adventure seekers can enjoy eco-trekking on hiking trails, bird watching or observing wildlife in their natural surroundings.

Additionally, Dominica is home to the world’s second largest hot spring and features 365 rivers, cascading waterfalls and black-sand beaches. With ample coastlines and coral reefs, Dominica also offers diving and snorkeling for underwater adventures.
