The Ritz Carlton, Charlotte Opens New 'Kinship' Lobby Bar

The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte has done away with its ground-floor dining location. Its replacement is a new, one-of-a-kind cocktail lounge called Kinship. Dubbed as a “sophisticated new way to get together” the lounge – now open – serves interactive beverage options and authentic Latin and international small plates, created by Chef Juan Pablo de la Sota Riva.

Kinship marks the second branded beverage destination at The Ritz-Carlton, Charlotte, supplementing the 15th floor Punch Room. Unique to Kinship is the new Kinship Flask Service, which provides table guests with a cocktail of choice, served from a flask which is then left with them at the table. Guests can then refresh their beverages from the flask as desired, creating a more communal and unique experience for all parties.

New interiors incorporate rich colored furnishings, shelter sofas, contemporary wing-back chairs and bronze metal accents. In terms of food, Chef Pablo de la Sota Rivera has created a menu that highlights his two culinary styles, having previously worked as a chef at La Broche in Madrid and Le Cirque in Mexico City. The tapas-style menu includes selections from around the globe, including Smoked Beef Carpaccio, Charred Octopus Anticuchos, Truffle Salmon Dip, Jicama Taco Shells and more.

Beverage hits include three local beers served on tap, a wine and classic cocktail list available at the bar and at seats, and a few new creations including the Smoked Pineapple Pear, created from Smoked Hennessy, fresh pineapple, pear juice and compressed pear, and Four the Crew, a larger cocktail which serves four guests, featuring Tito’s Vodka, lychee and ginger syrup.

Opening hours of the new establishment are Monday to Thursday, 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m.; and Sunday, 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
