Butcher's already big in Asia |
It's good to hear that, amid all the talk of layoffs, some people are getting jobs—I mean really good jobs. Brett Butcher is one of those lucky ones. He's been tapped as CEO of Langham Hotels International, where he will lead the group as it expands its pipeline of hotels—try 30 properties within the next five years (Langham Place, Beijing is set to open this year; Langham Place, Koregaon Park, Pune will open in 2010). Ambitious, maybe, but we're convinced that if anyone can do it, Brett can. He's got the chops having been with Langham for the past seven years in several senior roles including senior vice president of sales and marketing. If that's not enough credential, he's also Australian!
