John Issa, chairman of SuperClubs Resorts, was awarded a 2010 “Excelencias Award” by the Madrid, Spain based Excelencias Group, which specializes in communication products and services in the travel and tourism industry.
The award recognizes Issa as the “hotel entrepreneur with the most advanced and innovative ideas in the Caribbean.”
“I am honored to receive this recognition,” Issa said in a written release. “A leader is only as good as his team and mine has helped me successfully build the SuperClubs family of brands to this ‘excellent’ level. We look forward to continuing to not just meet but exceed our guests’ expectations at our resorts.”
Created in 2005, the annual “Excelencias Awards” promote excellence in tourism and culture-related fields. In 2010, a new “Excelencias Special Awards” category was established to honor top enterprises, institutions and people in the industry. The awards will be presented on January 19 at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR) in Madrid.
