Starting in September, all of Marriott International's brands in the U.S. and Canada will become smoke-free. This includes including Marriott, JW Marriott, The Ritz-Carlton, Renaissance, Courtyard, Residence Inn, SpringHill Suites, Fairfield Inn, TownePlace Suites and Marriott ExecuStay brands. The no-smoking policy will be applied to guest rooms, restaurants, lounges, meeting facilities, public spaces and employee work areas. Marriott is the latest hotel chain to join the smoke-free frenzy, which was kicked off by Westin Hotels & Resorts. As of February, all Westin properties in North America are smoke-free.
