Marriott Introduces Courtyard Brand to Japan

Japan will soon get a taste of one of Marriott's most iconic brands. Courtyard by Marriott, a market leader in the midprice with F&B sector, will open on April 2007 in the Ginza district of Tokyo under a franchise agreement with Tobu Hotel Management. Under the agreement, the existing 206-room Renaissance Tokyo Hotel Ginza Tobu will be converted to the Courtyard by Marriott Tokyo Ginza Hotel after extensive renovations. Sixty percent of the hotel's current guests come from abroad and the hotel management will look to strengthen its awareness, particularly in the U.S. market.
