Tribute Portfolio, a collection of independent hotels and resorts by Marriott International, has announced the debut of a new property in Bali, the Sthala, A Tribute Portfolio Hotel, Ubud Bali.
The newly opened hotel marks the brand’s first new build property to open, only a year and a half after the company’s launch. Set on a hilltop in Lodtunduh, the 143 room and suite property is located in the heart of Bali’s Ubud district and offers views of the Wos River valley. The upscale hotel was designed with traditional Balinese touches and elements, yet includes a variety of modern amenities unique to the hotel’s location.
On site amenities include a fitness center and spa, guest activities including yoga on a dedicated yoga deck, wellness, nature, art and culture classes and more. The Naga Rooftop Bar & Lounge offers the highest views from the property, while Sungai Restaurant is an all-day dining experience that offers guests Asian cuisine with Balinese touches, as well as a variety of Western dishes. The Panorama Pool and Sundeck Lounge serves cocktails and light bights against the backdrop of the Wos River and forest.
A theme noticeable across all Tribute Portfolio properties, Sthala offers a selection of “independent moments” that are unique specifically to this Tribute property. Some of the independent moments at Sthala include dragon wood carving, the traditional Indonesian symbol of power, strength and good fortune that’s been carved into parts of the hotel; stone carvings from Ubud culture, including the stone carvings of Trimutri, the trinity of supreme divinity in Hinduism; Bebek Semudera, or, a twist on an Ubud region signature dish; and bamboo woven chairs, located in the Naga Rooftop Bar & Lounge.
Other amenities of the smoke-free property include wheelchair accessibility, property wide Wi-Fi and complimentary self-parking. SPG members who book stays at the resort (located roughly 18 miles from the Ngurah Rai International Airport) before March 2016 will earn double Starpoints.
