Mexico All-Inclusive Report: Los Cabos

It may be known among jet setters for its EP hotels, including the newly opened Nobu Hotel Los Cabos, but there are plenty of all-inclusives popping up in Los Cabos

Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos is just under a year old, and it brings some significant culinary experiences to the destination. Most notable is the resort’s signature restaurant, Lumiere, where guests can take in a seven-course French fusion tasting menu. Many of the seven other restaurants on property also have an international flair: Blan International, Blanc Italia, Blanc Asia, Blanc Pizza, Blanc Ocean, Blanc Cafe and Mezze. In terms of amenities, guests can take advantage of personal butler service, nightly aromatherapy, a pillow menu, CHI-branded blow dryers and flatirons, BVLGARI personal products and an array of luxury bath salts in every room. Elsewhere at the resort, they can check out a full-service spa with 25 treatment rooms and a hydrotherapy facility, a fitness and wellness center, juice bars and four plunge pools. Good to know: To celebrate its one-year anniversary, through April 27 the resort is offering a $500 air credit promotion that is combinable with its popular $1,500 resort credit.

In December, Riu opened the Riu Palace Baja California, marking the company’s third hotel in Los Cabos. The newbuild hotel shares the “public spaces on top” design concept with the company’s new property in Costa Mujeres, and it has 602 guestrooms, 32 of which have also been elevated and 82 of which have sea views. All rooms have 24-hour room service, free Wi-Fi, a complete spirits dispenser and a minibar. The resort is adults-only, with a number of romantic amenities aimed at couples: a welcome cava cocktail, bathrobes in the bedrooms and the option to book a candlelit dinner on the beach. There are also four pools, two with swim-up bars, and a number of dining venues: the Promenade main restaurant; the Indian Taj Mahal; the Japanese Yu Hi; the Italian Sofia; the Guacamole steakhouse; the fusion Krystal; and the grill Pepe’s Food. Rounding out the food and beverage options are a lounge bar and a patisserie and ice cream parlor called Capuchino. Other amenities include a Renova Spa and two fully equipped conference rooms for meetings and events. The hotel is located in El Médano, along with RIU’s two other hotels in Baja California: the Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas and the Riu Santa Fe, the latter of which hosts pool parties that guests at the new resort can attend for free.

Now accepting bookings for this July, the new Hard Rock Hotel Los Cabos will be set on the beach of Cabo San Lucas in the Diamante Cabo San Lucas complex. The top-tier accommodation at the 639-room resort will be the company’s Rock Star Suite, which will join other signature elements of the brand, such as the Rock Spa, Body Rock fitness center and, of course, plenty of music memorabilia. Also on site will be five swim-up bars, six pools, water slides, eight a la carte dining options and three lounges: Sun Bar, Moon Lounge and Club Heaven. For golf lovers, the resort will provide access to two nearby courses designed by Davis Love III and Tiger Woods, El Cardonal and Dunes, as part of the Diamante complex. There will also be a number of entertainment options for all ages, including designated family and adult-only areas, a bowling alley and a kids’ program. For events and weddings, the resort will have 56,000 square feet of space across multiple venues.
