Three All-Inclusives for Mexico-Bound Millennials

Cool pools, sexy bars and stylish surroundings for a great, unfiltered social media photo can all be found at these three all-inclusive resorts that we break down for the Millennial traveler with a few bucks to burn on a holiday in Mexico.

Here's why you need to visit all three if you want to be in the know.

Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos

There are a lot of Instagram-worthy shots for Millennials to take take at the newly-opened Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos, whether it's sipping a cocktail over a fire pit or simply lounging on a beach in the Baja Peninsula.

At this new, modern chic resort, which is less than a year old, we were told the most luxurious suite available to guests is the Royale Governor Suite.

This room comes with a bedroom with a walk-in closet and bathroom connected to the common areas, which include a living room and dining room. With a partial ocean view and a balcony with a daybed, seating area and dining table, guests can enjoy sunrises and sunsets without leaving their room.

The in-room liquor dispenser is stocked with a top-shelf premium selection of rum, whisky and vodka. Other in-room amenities include CHI blow dryers, flat irons and top hair product essentials.

The resort’s 29,000 square-foot spa features a hydrotherapy area, hot and cold plunge pools, a sauna, an herbal steam room, chromotherapy, an ice room, a relaxation lounge and 25 treatment rooms.

The spa features ancient, local-inspired treatments such as the signature Pericue Massage, a four-hand massage ritual derived from the history of the region’s ancient natives, the Pericue Tribe.

Active Millennials can indulge in personal training and new fitness activities, such as TRX and Aqua Spinning. A variety of less intense activities are also offered at the resort, including stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), yoga, live music, karaoke and guided meditation classes.

There are seven restaurants here, but we were told the best dining experience at the resort can be found at Lumiere, the hotel’s French-fusion signature restaurant that features a seven-course tasting menu. Lumiere is the only restaurant at the hotel that requires reservations.

However, the best seats of all the restaurants can be found at BLANC Ocean, as the majority of the restaurant’s tables have a front row view of the ocean with glass windows surrounding the perimeter.

BLANC Fire

With an extensive list of carefully crafted libations by the resort’s top mixologists, Le Blanc Spa Resort has six different bars. The best here is BLANC Fire, which has live music, cocktails over a fire pit and ocean views.

Other unique experiences at the resort include private tequila tastings and private dining areas for romantic dinners. Guests who book seven nights or more are eligible to receive a $1,500 resort credit that can be applied to spa treatments, upgraded wines or off-property tours. The hotel is located about 35 minutes from Los Cabos International Airport.

UNICO 20°N 87°W - Riviera Maya

Back in 2016, AIC Hotel Group announced the launch of UNICO Hotels, a new collection of adults-only, luxury, all-inclusive hotels designed to reflect each property’s locale and native culture, and to appeal to affluent Millennials who appreciate a little extra value on top of the traditional offerings of an all-inclusive.

The first hotel, Unico Hotel Riviera Maya - 20ºN 87ºW, located in the Riviera Maya on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula, does just that.

Case in point, the hotel, unlike most all-inclusive resorts, includes select spa and beauty salon treatments as part if its "Unlimited Inclusions" offerings. For a 20 percent service fee, Millennials can upgrade their stay with unlimited golf, scuba diving experiences, select spa treatments, select local tours, and select beauty salon and barber shop services.

About 90 percent of UNICO Hotel Riviera Maya’s accommodations have ocean views. All first-floor rooms have semi-private exterior pools, while rooms on second to fifth floors have a double hydro spa tub.

The hotel has a unique twist on traditional butler service. All accommodations come with a personal host, “El Anfitrion,” for an added level of pampering and personalized service. The host will make sure guests are connected to the youthful pulse of the local culture and will help tailor each guest’s experience.

The spa has roughly 20 rooms, including two Couples Suites, six Couple Cabins and 10 Single Cabins. Guests looking for limited contact can either have their “host” book the spa treatment, or can book it through the UNICO Experience App.

The UNICO Experience Lab located in the spa will invite guests to select personalized luxury bath amenities and products made with local ingredients, allowing them to make a further connection with the region and its people. In terms of treatments, we were told the Ritual Sensation treatments are anticipated to be the most popular among guests. The 90-minute Volcanic Stones Ritual combines heated, smooth stones and a reconstructive relaxing massage that helps in getting rid of muscular pain, tension and accumulated fatigue. Healing properties of the heated stones will aim to balance the mind, body and soul.

Other signature guest experiences, consistent in each UNICO property, will include an in-room gallery with art to purchase from local artisans and an “Experience Room,” where guests select their own beach gear and personalized in-room amenities sourced from local craftsmen.

For golf aficionados, the hotel will provide access to the nearby golf course and club at the Hard Rock Golf Club Riviera Maya.

Food and beverage offerings will include onsite distillery or brewery incorporating flavors and ingredients from the region, as well as an annual rotating chef restaurant concept, with a focus on emerging talent and flavors.

Services range from arriving in a custom-scented lobby, where guests are introduced to the Guest Experience App featuring information on each week’s activities, to gastronomy and libation mixology that fosters a sense of regional celebration.
