Morgans Hotel Group Hires Marketing Head To Aid In Phased Growth

Morgans Hotel Group, a boutique hotel operator with brands such as The Shore Club in Miami and Mondrian in Los Angeles, has appointed Scott Williams as its chief marketing officer. In his role, Williams will be responsible for all marketing and brand strategy, and report directly to Ed Scheetz, Morgans Hotel Group's president and CEO. Prior to joining the group, Williams spent the last eight years as chief creative officer for Starwood Hotels and Resorts. Last month, Morgans Hotel Group announced it was converting a property in the SoHo district of Manhattan on Lafayette Street into a Mondrian. The hotel is anticipated to be 270 rooms.
