AMResorts, an Apple Leisure Group (ALG) company, and Hesperia Hotels & Resorts, a Spanish hotel group, announced the debut of the second Secrets Resorts & Spas property in Europe with Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa. The resort is in Lanzarote in Spain's Canary Islands, and it opened following an $11 million renovation on December 9 close to the airport and alongside the marina of Puerto Calero.
Secrets Lanzarote Resort & Spa underwent an extensive renovation spanning all areas of the hotel, including the 335 guestrooms, several of which were converted into swim-up suites offering private terraces and direct access to a private pool. In addition, 125 of the rooms have been designated as part of the Secrets Preferred Club, an elevated experience that includes such amenities and offerings as access to the Preferred Club Lounge, private pool and solarium, daily continental breakfast served in a private restaurant, upgraded bathroom amenities and exclusive concierge services.
The adults-only property also includes a new spa, a renovated gym and a wide array of sports and fitness offerings, as well as new meeting facilities with a combined capacity of more than 1,300 people.
The new property marks the 18th Secrets Resorts & Spas property, with resorts in Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Mexico. The next phase of the ALG and Hesperia Hotels & Resorts alliance will bring the first Dreams Resorts & Spas-branded property to Spain in 2020, with the conversion of Hesperia Playa Dorada to Dreams Lanzarote Resort & Spa.
