Palace Resorts Hires New Chief Operating Officer, Vice President of Marketing


Palace Resorts names Sandor Winkler its new chief operating officer

Palace Resorts, an all-inclusive chain with properties in both the Caribbean and Mexico, recently named Sandor Winkler its new chief operating officer.

Winkler will execute overall operational strategies for the Palace Resorts brand. Exposed to the hospitality industry at a young age, Winkler serves as a seasoned veteran as he brings more than a decade of experience in marketing and sales.

Joining Palace Resorts in 2004, Winkler has held various managerial positions within the company before he was named Palace Resorts director of tourism and other services in 2009. In this role, Winkler was responsible for the corporate direction of nine Palace Resorts properties in Mexico and the Dominican Republic, as well as supervising 45 managers and division heads.

The company also announced the addition of Kathy Halpern as vice president of marketing. Halpern will oversee marketing planning and strategic execution for the Palace Resorts brand, which includes seven oceanfront resort properties in Cancun, Cozumel, Isla Mujeres and Riviera Maya, Mexico, as well as Le Blanc Spa Resort in Cancun.

A seasoned veteran in the hospitality industry, Halpern brings more than two decades of experience in both hotel and tour operator sales and marketing. Prior to joining Palace Resorts, Halpern worked with Occidental Hotels & Resorts for more than 13 years.

Most recently, as vice president of sales and marketing, Halpern successfully managed product distribution, promotional marketing and brand strategy, public relations, business development in growing markets as well as launching new properties and re-branding existing hotels. Halpern’s past experience also includes a tenure with Island Destinations, where she held several titles including vice president of marketing, specializing in Caribbean, Mexico and Greek island travel.
