Hans Georg Roehrbein, general manager of the San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino, was named “Hotelier of the Year” by the Puerto Rico Tourism & Hotel Association (PRHTA). The announcement was made on the closing day of the PRHTA’s annual convention during an industry-wide awards luncheon held at the Puerto Rico Convention Center.
“Hotelier of the Year” is the highest honor bestowed by the Association’s members on a colleague. Every year, it recognizes the person who has made the greatest contribution to the well being of the PRHTA and Puerto Rican hospitality industry.
The following criteria are evaluated when selecting the recipient of this honor: commitment to the Puerto Rico Hotel & Tourism Association, career accomplishments, standing in the industry and community involvement.
“Hans brings an incredible passion and commitment to his hotel and profession,” said Julian Cable-Treadwell, director of marketing of San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino in a written release. “He is a tireless ambassador for Puerto Rico and the hotel industry in general, never hesitant to take on a role representing our industry needs. We congratulate him on this well deserved honor.”
With more than 30 years of hospitality experience, Roehrbein joined Marriott International in 1982. He assumed the role of general manager of San Juan Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino in 2005 and currently oversees the daily operations at the 525-room resort.
