Regent Hotels Adds Offices, Builds Global Sales Team

Regent Hotels & Resorts is expanding its sales operations by opening new offices in New York and London and building a new global sales team, according to the company.

The brand also announced it plans to add offices in Tokyo, Shanghai and Beijing in 2011. The expansion is big news for the Taiwan-based luxury hotel brand. The new global sales team consists of directors of sales Erika Limmer, Karin Cohen and Jo Clark. .

Limmer was most recently director of sales at The Regent Berlin and previously worked at both Starwood Hotels & Resorts and CIGA Hotels. Cohen was the director of business development at Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. Clark previously worked at The Leading Hotels of the World and Carlson Wagonlit Travel. The trio will divide their duties, with Limmer working on the U.S. West Coast, Cohen operating out of the New York office and Clark directing European activity.

"Erika, Karin and Jo possess an extensive knowledge of the luxury market segment in North America and Europe.  All three have longstanding, deep relationships with the luxury travel agent community, top agency consortia and key corporate travel managers and meeting planners," said Christine Hodder, senior vice president of Regent Hotels & Resorts. "These established relationships along with their proven track records in hospitality sales will be tremendous assets for us as we reestablish Regent as the leading luxury global hotel brand."

Regent Hotels & Resorts, which installed new leadership in July, is the global luxury brand owned by Formosa International Hotels Corporation, the largest hotel company listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange.
