Sandals Montego Bay Introduces New Renovations

Sandals Resorts International (SRI) has introduced the reimagined and renovated flagship resort, Sandals Montego Bay. The resort first opened nearly four decades ago by SRI Founder and Chairman Gordon Stewart, and has remained the heart of Sandals Resorts as the company has grown, expanding across multiple brands and islands.

With a goal to offer luxury hospitality in the Caribbean, Stewart purchased the Bay Roc in Montego Bay, Jamaica in 1981, a rundown hotel next to the airport that would become Sandals Montego Bay. From the success of this first Sandals property, Stewart went on to expand the brand into an award-winning, all-inclusive resort chain. Now with this renovation, Sandals Montego Bay is again at the center of Sandals’ hospitality offerings.

Following this renovation, Sandals invites guests to experience the reimagined luxury property. The resort offers all new room offerings, a new “living room” lobby area, and a high-tech conference center that hosts up to 300 guests – upgrades that make Sandals Montego Bay an ideal spot for international and local meetings groups.

Furthermore, many new 5-Star "Global Gourmet" dining additions to the resort are coming soon in 2018 – Butch’s Steak and Seafood, specializing in gourmet chops and meat; a new Jerk Shack, serving the authentic Jamaican jerk; and Soy, a sushi restaurant. Guests will also be able to enjoy premium spirits and views at the resort’s new over-the-water bar called Latitudes, equipped with cantilevered hammocks and underwater lighting.

The resort is an ideal destination for couples with its new over-the-water chapel coming in 2018, where couples can tie the knot. Couples can come to the resort for one of Sandals’ romantic, all-inclusive Weddings, Honeymoons or Retie the Knot ceremony.
