Shangri-La to Open Eight New Properties in 2007

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts will open eight new properties in 2007, ranging from a 214-room hotel in Abu Dhabi to a 281-room hotel in Chiang Mai and six new hotels in China. The hotels to open in China include two hotels in Inner Mongolia (in Hohhot and Baotou); a hotel in the capital of the Guangdong Province, Guangzhou; a hotel in Chengdu near the famed panda sanctuary; and the group's second hotels in Xian and Shenzhen. Additionally, the group will open a Valley Wing luxury tower at Shangri-La Hotel, Beijing and a new wing at the Shangri-La property in Qingdao, the host city of the 2008 Olympic sailing regatta.
