Sheraton, Microsoft Partner to Roll Out Enhanced Communications Hub in Hotels

Sheraton Hotels has partnered with Microsoft to create a unique communications hub called "The Link @ Sheraton experienced with Microsoft.” The Link will provide business travelers, as well as vacationers who stay connected as they travel, with a virtual and physical lobby lounge that provides Windows-based computers, free Wi-Fi, and Internet-enabled computer stations that allow guests to email, browse the Web, search maps, print boarding passes, and more. Several computers will include webcams, providing users with the capability to interact for free through video-chats or email video postcards. The Link will also include televisions, daily newspapers, and food and beverage offerings.

“Our guests are intent on making the most of their travels and we’re confident this new partnership will provide them with the products, services and tools to keep them connected to what matters most while on the road,” said Hoyt H. Harper, II, senior vice president for the Sheraton brand.

Sandra Andrews, U.S. hospitality industry director for Microsoft, added that The Link will help "forge the convergence of the digital lifestyle and work-style in the experiences offered to this new breed of guest.”

Under the Microsoft agreement, Sheraton will roll out the co-branded “The Link @ Sheraton experienced with Microsoft” at more than 300 properties worldwide by the end of 2008.
