Le Meridien St. Louis Clayton Partners With “Beyond Van Gogh" Exhibit

Le Meridien St. Louis Clayton, a 268-room hotel managed by Crescent Hotels & Resorts, has announced its partnership with the country-wide exhibit “Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience.” Travelers, art lovers and foodies alike are welcome to experience Van Gogh on every level—from an immersive Van Gogh Suite to a prix fixe dinner at the hotel’s restaurant, Café la Vie. The hotel, in collaboration with the limited-time exhibit and HOK Design, is celebrating the life and works of Vincent Van Gogh. The experiences at Le Meridien St. Louis Clayton are available until January 2, 2022.

Le Meridien St. Louis Clayton and HOK Design have transformed the hotel’s Executive Suite into a light recreation of Van Gogh’s “The Bedroom” with the bold yellow chair and blue vase accessories with sunflowers. Guests will find stills and portraits hung throughout to create a space that gives a nod to what his room would have looked like in 1886 in his shared Rue Laval apartment in Montmartre. Guests in the Van Gogh Suite can wear the Asian-inspired satin robes placed in the closet and will find other notable items from the painting, such as paintbrush pens, bold color schemes, throw blankets and outdoor lightscapes.

Reservations for the Van Gogh Suite at Le Meridien St. Louis Clayton will include two premium tickets to the “Beyond Van Gogh” exhibit available for use even on sold-out dates, a European snack-board in-room amenity, turndown service and a private outdoor space with a fire pit on the hotel’s pool deck—so guests can enjoy their own starry night views.

Less than 10 minutes from Le Meridien St. Louis Clayton, “Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience” allows guests to admire over 300 of the greatest works of the post-Impressionist artist. The experience has been created by French-Canadian Creative Director Mathieu St-Arnaud and his team at Montreal-based Normal Studio.

Until December 29 (on Wednesday nights), the hotel’s restaurant and bar, Café la Vie offers an exclusive three-course prix fixe dinner menu inspired by Van Gogh’s greatest works. The Van Gogh-inspired dinner begins with an aperitif called The Potato Eaters, a “loaded” potato agnolotti with bacon lardon, white cheddar fondue, crispy potato skins and scallions; it continues with the main entree of The Lying Cow, beef short rib lying in Tuscan kale risotto and topped with natural jus and tapioca-crusted vidalia onion; and for dessert is the Starry Night, a mirror-glazed chocolate torte. Four cocktails are also on the Van Gogh menu: Early Works, made with spicy gin, blackberries, fresh lemon and lemonade; The Still Lifes, blood orange sorbet and sparkling wine; In Provence, mixing bourbon, lavender syrup, and bitters, and Auvers-sur-Oise & The End, combining bourbon, lemon juice, egg white froth, and red wine float.

Guests can also opt for a stay at the hotel in a standard guestroom with the Van Gogh Experience package. The package includes two premium admission tickets to the exhibit that are redeemable even on sold-out dates, complimentary self-parking, breakfast for two at Café la Vie (the restaurant inside the hotel) and complimentary Wi-Fi.

Reservations for the guestroom package can be made through www.lemeridienclayton.com and those interested in the pre fixe dinner can secure a reservation on OpenTable.
