Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. has appointed Mary Casey as senior vice president of sales, North America Division. In her new role, Casey will adapt and execute Starwood's sales strategy for North America.
Christie Hicks, senior vice president of Starwood Sales Organization, is thrilled to have Casey lead the North America sales division. "She is a seasoned leader known for her drive and energy and customer relationships, and the expertise she's gained from her long tenure with Starwood will be instrumental in our sales efforts for North America," says Hicks.
Casey has been with Starwood for more than 24 years. She has experience in a sales leadership in Europe and the United States and leading the Global Corporate team. She recently held the position of vice president, global corporate sales where she was responsible for the growth and development of business and partnership opportunities with Starwood's largest and most complex global customers. Casey's twenty-year plus career with ITT Sheraton and Starwood has placed her in a range of diverse and senior operational roles, including vice president of sales product development, director of sales for Europe based in Brussels, Belgium, general manager of the Sheraton Skyline Hotel and Conference Center at London's Heathrow Airport, and vice president of Six Sigma for Starwood's corporate, technology and revenue systems group based at Starwood's corporate headquarters.
Casey grew up in Scotland and is a graduate of the University of Edinburgh. She maintains links with her homeland through her role as an ambassador for the GlobalScot organization, which is dedicated to advancing the country's status in the global business community. She has served on the foundation boards of Meeting Professionals International and the Global Business Travel Association, as well as the board for the Association of Corporate Travel Executives. Casey is based at Starwood's global headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut.
