The Virginian Lodge in Jackson Hole, WY Unveils Renovation

The Virginian Lodge in Jackson Hole, WY, has unveiled a complete transformation encompassing 165 all-new guestrooms and suites, a central courtyard with a large all-season outdoor pool, a new lobby and other amenities. Nicknamed “The Virg,” The Virginian Lodge originally opened in 1965 and has been popular with locals and travelers alike. It is an ideal base camp to access the outdoor recreation in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks.

Following the property’s debut in January, new food and beverage concepts will be added in late spring. These would include Billy’s Burgers, a local favorite that will be coming out of retirement and finding a new home at The Virginian alongside The Virginian Saloon, an iconic watering hole, and Ginny’s Bottle Shop, a drive-thru liquor store. Rounding out the culinary offerings, The Virginian Restaurant is currently open daily serving breakfast and lunch menu made from scratch.

New York City-based interior design team Goodrich led The Virginian’s redesign. Upon entering the Lodge’s lobby, guests are greeted by a vintage check-in counter, and a sign reading, “When you call me that, SMILE!” which pays homage to the hotel's 19th-century namesake novel. Restored vintage furniture and wagon wheel chandeliers create a cozy sitting area. Locally roasted coffee, organic tea and artisan hot cocoa are available for guests.

Rooms and suites have warm wood accents and mid-century furnishings. Courtyard View King rooms are near the pool and social areas, while the Bunk Adventure Camp rooms are well-suited for families, friends and groups, sleeping up to eight people and offering double bathrooms. On the perimeter of the property, Premium Suites offer oversized accommodations in one- and two-bedroom configurations with living areas and kitchenettes. Good to know: Every room has oversized racks for hanging and airing out adventure gear and sliding wooden barn doors, for access into the tiled bathrooms.

The Virginian’s courtyard has gathering spots around fire pits with Adirondack chairs. Anchoring the courtyard is the all-season outdoor heated pool with mountain views and two new oversized hot tubs. The courtyard transitions seasonally, welcoming guests year-round for interactive programming and curated activities, including fireside s’mores and pop-up igloos in the winter, wine tastings and musical concerts in the summer, and yoga classes, outdoor workshops, picnics and a bike-in themed movies series.

The Virginian Lodge will debut an all-new flexible event space, Wister Hall. Spanning 4,185 square feet, it's one of the largest open meeting spaces in Jackson Hole and is available for groups, demos, events and weddings. A 14-person boardroom will be available to rent for small meetings and private events.

Also situated on property is an outpost of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Sports Shop, offering ski and bike rentals and equipment from the industry’s best brands. To ensure guests have easy access to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, the Virginian Lodge offers a ski shuttle in winter months that departs from the hotel at 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., and picks up at the mountain at 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.

The Virginian Lodge is the first of many forthcoming properties in the Outbound Hotels and Resorts collection. From on-property events such as story hours with nature photographers and causal campfire music series, to off-property excursions and insider’s hikes, The Virginian Lodge provides guests and locals a home base to explore the American West against a stunning backdrop.

Deal: To celebrate its grand opening, The Virginian Lodge is offering a limited-time package that includes a two-night stay for two people, a bottle of champagne upon arrival, an Elk Refuge sleigh ride for two adults (inclusive of transportation to and from the Lodge), two Virginian Lodge branded travel mugs, and a make-your-own spiked hot chocolate beverage. Rates start at $399 per night, January 10 through March 31.
