The Westbury Unveils Refurbishment of Two Exclusive Suite Levels

The Doyle Collection has announced that The Westbury, Dublin has renovated its collection of suites. An investment of $9 million, the refurbishment included 18 Signature Suites across two newly launched levels on the fifth and sixth floors; two of the new suites offer outdoor terraces. A Dublin landmark since opening 40 years ago, The Westbury was designed to bring an Art Deco, mid-century sophistication to the city.

The P.V. Doyle Suite—named for the collection's founder—is set on the sixth floor and has been completely refurbished in keeping with The Westbury’s place as a member of The Leading Hotels of the World. Formerly The Presidential Suite, the P.V. Doyle Suite houses a primary bedroom, living room and dining area alongside a fitness and well-being space.

Artwork from some of Ireland’s most celebrated artists adorn every wall. Upon entering the suite, guests are welcomed by “Sol Y Sombra,” a tapestry by 20th-century Irish artist Louis Le Brocquy. In the sitting room, windows fill the space with natural light, reflecting on the cut-mirror fronted and brass-lined cocktail bar. The design draws on the High Deco details displayed throughout the hotel, most particularly The Sidecar cocktail bar. Seating in the main sitting room surrounds an Angelo Mangiarotti sculptural marble table and, throughout the suite, guests will discover artworks by Nano Reid, Tim Goulding, Patrick Scott, Michael Kane and Le Brocquy’s widow, Anne Madden. Speaking of the refurbishment, Bernie Doyle Gallagher said that the curated selection of antiques and artwork present themes of travel, exploration and discovery.

The suite can also be reconfigured to incorporate an additional three en-suite bedrooms. Besides butler and concierge services, guests can avail of in-suite massages, facials and personal trainers on request.
