Who’s Where in Travel: New GMs and Sales Directors at Luxury Hotels

Corinthia Hotels has welcomed three new industry veterans to lead its hotels opening in 2024.

Opening the Corinthia Rome at Piazza del Parlamento is Danilo Zucchetti who most recently was vice president, operations for Baglioni Hotels. Prior to that he was managing director of Villa d’Este on Lake Como, having worked for the group for almost two decades. Previously, he was GM of Hotel Bauer and Il Palazzo in Venice for six years.

Pradeep Raman will be responsible for opening Corinthia’s first U.S. hotel in New York City’s Upper East Side, at the former Surrey Hotel, currently undergoing a comprehensive transformation. His career history began at the Taj Group in India, where he held various positions in operations and management. He later joined The Ritz-Carlton, where he held management positions in several properties in Asia and the United States. Most recently, Raman served as GM at the Baccarat Hotel & Residences in New York.

Edward Leenders brings over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry to Corinthia Brussels, which is opening at the former Grand Hotel Astoria, currently being entirely rebuilt on Rue Royale. Leenders has previously held various leadership positions at luxury hotels and resorts around the world. Prior to joining Corinthia, he served as the managing director of Hotel De l’Europe in Amsterdam and before that worked for Rocco Forte Hotel Hotels for over a decade in London, Florence and Brussels.

The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis has appointed Bosther Kusich as general manager. With a career spanning 27 years in luxury hospitality, Kusich will oversee all operations for the 299-room hotel property in Downtown Clayton.

In his previous role as GM of The Ritz-Carlton, Fort Lauderdale, Kusich oversaw multimillion-dollar renovation projects and navigated the labor market throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Throughout his career, Kusich has held numerous senior management positions, overseeing food and beverage and hotel operations at various properties, including The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach, The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, The Ritz-Carlton, Phoenix, and The Ritz-Carlton, Sarasota.

Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa, a Texas destination resort near Austin’s Hill Country set on 405 acres along the banks of the Lower Colorado River, announced that Irby Morvant Jr. is its new general manager.

Morvant is a seasoned hotelier with over 30 years of experience in the hospitality management industry. Most recently, he served as a GM of Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa; prior to that, he served as GM of Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport; and before that, he was GM of Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa & Marina in San Diego. Among the updates that Morvant will oversee is the resort’s newest restaurant, Maude’s Bar and Terrace, debuting this summer, the updated Maverick’s Roadhouse and Heartwood House restaurants, and the redesigned Lost Pines Golf Course. Morvant will also be responsible for directing future resort developments.

Viceroy Hotels & Resorts has announced the appointment of Erik Grazetti as Viceroy Chicago’s new director of sales and marketing. Grazetti joins Viceroy Chicago from The Peninsula Chicago, where he led sales and marketing at the hotel during the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic. During his 30 years in the hospitality industry, he has been a part of five opening hotel teams, bringing his marketing expertise to The Jefferson Washington DC, Loews Chicago Hotel and Sofitel Chicago Water Tower.
