Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita

The bedroom of the Mombasa Suite at Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita

Having just returned from a four-day stay at AMResorts’ flagship Zoetry property, Zoetry Paraiso de la Bonita, I can say without hesitation that it is one of the finest luxury resorts I’ve ever stayed at in all of Mexico.

And this resort had the challenge of not only pleasing me, but making me feel comfortable with the guest I was invited to bring as well. The tricky part? The guest was my mother. Although at first I felt uncomfortable bringing my mother to this resort, which had a reputation for romance long before Zoetry slapped its name on, I didn’t feel one bit that way after I settled in.

Now, if it’s romance you want, romance you will get. But Zoetry will also suit you fine if you are just looking for a quiet getaway with your family, parents or perhaps a friend.

Our Room

Recommend the room I stayed in, Mombasa (all suites have names), a one-bedroom, beach-level luxury suite with a plunge pool.

The resort has just 90 rooms and is on a very quiet part of the beach between Cancun and Playa Del Carmen, so if it’s privacy you are looking for, this is the place to be.

Our room had a ton of space, especially the bathroom. The plunge pool was great and offered fantastic views of the beach since it was literally just a foot away.

The only problem I had with the pool was the two, huge palm trees that were directly in front of it, blocking the sun during the day. Because of that, this was something that was probably more enjoyable at night.

The proximity to the beach was unbelievable. You could climb over a few rocks and have your toes sinking in white sand in seconds!

Dining

The food was absolutely amazing, especially the property’s La Canoa restaurant, an elegant AAA Four Diamond restaurant that has the resort’s French chef’s La Cuisine de los Soles, a delectable fusion of styles using the spices and chilies of several warm-weather countries. You would never be able to tell this was an all-inclusive as all restaurants are à la carte, and premium liquors are included. I had the lamb chops and a bottle of one of the resort’s best cabernets. The wine in this restaurant, however, is the only liquor not included in the total price.

Service

The best part of this resort, hands down, was the service. Need an extended checkout? No problem. Would you like a bottle of wine delivered to your room? Consider it done. And the best part of the treatment was that no one at the resort knew who I was, so I can honestly say this is how they treat all guests and not just the ones who will be writing about them.
