On Site: Jamaica's Airports Launch VIP Experiences

Travelers to Jamaica's Sangster International Airport and Norman Manley International Airport are in for the VIP treatment. As part of a media briefing held during the 21st annual Jamaica Product Exchange (JAPEX), Travel Agent learned that VIP Attractions has launched two VIP airport services for travelers to Jamaica: Club Kingston and Club MoBay.

These airport experiences offer travelers access to VIP lounges while at the airport, similar to American Airlines' Admiral's Club. The lounge has a business center, complimentary drinks and snacks, a spa, shower facilities, television and more.

For international arrivals, the experience includes a greeter at the jet bridge who guides travelers through the immigration and customs process.

There are four ways to access the experience. First is through annual subscription, which would be most appealing to locals. Second is by flying through partner airlines, such as Virgin, British Airways, Air Jamaica, Caribbean, and Air Berlin. First class passengers on these flights are automatically entitled to the service. Travelers who are part of Airport Angels or Priority Pass can use the lounge, as well. And finally a fourth way is to purchase a $30 ticket, which travel agents can do via hotels or tour operators. There is a $5 commission on tickets.

Club MoBay opened in May, while Club Kingston debuted just two weeks ago.
