Legoland to Open Its Water Park for Summer 2012

The Miami Herald, November 30, 2011

The former Splash Island Water Park, which Merlin Entertainments acquired when it bought Cypress Gardens but had set aside while the rest of the property was rebuilt as Legoland Florida, will be renovated and opened by next summer, Adrian Jones, the park's general manager, announced Tuesday.

Most of the features will be the same ones from Splash Island, but updated with a Lego theme. They will include a wave pool, water slides, lazy river, a play area just for toddlers, and other Lego-themed features. Like the main park, the water play area will be aimed at 2- to 12-year-olds.

Admission will be a $12 add-on to Legoland's general admission; there will not be a separate admission for the water park alone.

The water park will not be open year-round, but exact dates have not been set yet.
