Dubai Launches First Low Cost Airline

Dubai launched its new airline, flydubia, June 2. This is Dubai's first low cost airline and it has already taken flight to the Beirut in Lebanon, Amman in Jordan, Damascus in Syria, and Alexandria in Egypt, giving the new airline a total of four destinations in just nine days.

The model of the plane is simple and customers are only paying for the services they typically want. One ticket price includes all taxes and one piece of handheld baggage. To make it easier, flydubai has provided passengers the option to purchase checked-in baggage in advance.

A simple payment allows customers to select their seat and secure extra legroom positions. Tickets are changeable for a small fee, plus any difference in the fare, food and drink can be purchased on board. Flydubai takes off from the second terminal on the north side of the Dubai International Airport.
