Swine Flu Prompts Carnival to Cancel Mexico Calls

Growing concerns over the swine flu has prompted Carnival Cruise Lines to suspend its Mexico stops. Three Carnival ships will skip Mexico port calls: Carnival Inspiration and Carnival's Holiday were scheduled to call in Cozumel Tuesday, while Carnival Elation was due to visit Ensenada.

Holland America, whose parent company is Carnival Corp., announced that Ryndam will skip its scheduled Mazatlan call also on Tuesday.

Both Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line have yet to cancel any stops in Mexico. The Associated Press reports that the former is monitoring the situation, but, so far, telling passengers that the outbreaks are inland, rather than at the coastal ports Royal Caribbean calls in.
