New Excursions for Imperial Tours

Artist's rendering of the St. Regis Lhasa, opening in November

Imperial Tours is freshening up its itinerary offerings with new experiences and destinations, including Jazz Night in Shanghai; 'In Conversation' with a former rocket factory girl; Exploring Macau; and the new St. Regis in Lhasa.

Jazz Night allows visitors to explore a favorite 1930s stomping ground in Shanghai - the Peace Hotel, where Victor Sassoon once held his famous balls. The outing ends at a modern jazz club so music lovers can compare the past with the present.

'In Conversation' follows the tale of a Nanjing native who was pulled out of school at age 16 and began her 10-year stint at a rocket factory. Now she is a factory-worker-turned writer, journalist and social commentator.

Take a trip to the former Portuguese colony of Macau, where travelers can visit the Barrier Gate, A-Ma Temple, St. Paul's Cathedral and Senado Square.

Finally, the new St. Regis is causing quite a buzz in Lhasa. Visit the 162-room luxury property with its diverse restaurants, spa and proximity to Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple
