Hard Rock's new hotel in Spain, the Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza, is set to kick off its first season by playing host to the Ibiza International Music Summit (IMS) as its first major event from May 21-23. The property is set to open May 18.

Taking a page from its musical heritage, the hotel will kick off its first season with one of the world’s most influential music industry gatherings, The Ibiza International Music Summit, which in the last seven years has grown from an intimate group of music leaders to a major event on the island.

Palladium Hotel Group has renovated two former Fiesta Hotels (Club Don Toni and Hotel Don Toni), uniting the two properties with a remodeled lobby and multi-purpose space, into the new hotel.

The Hard Rock Hotel Ibiza will open on the seafront of Ibiza’s Playa d’en Bossa. Outdoors, it will have an open-air stage for live concerts that can accommodate up to 2,500 guests. Inside, it will have 493 rooms including 235 suites and leisure facilities like a lobby bar, kids club, teen venue and beach club.

The Ibiza International Music Summit is both a high-level music industry conference attended by the global industry leaders in the dance music scene, as well as a week of dance parties marking the official launch of the Ibiza season. The Summit will bring together leading thinkers, futurists, artists, global brands and technology pioneers to debate, announce and share new initiatives and strategies in the music industry.

“IMS was created so people can debate and be inspired about the future of a technology-driven genre of music, so inevitably our host venue needs to also move with the times,” said Ben Turner, IMS partner and panel speaker in a statement. “This is a major opportunity for us to create a new home as we expand with the genre and with the ambitions of our delegates.”
