Tim Mullen Named Travel Impressions CEO as Hanratty Leaves for Mark

tim mullenTravel Impressions reports that effective immediately, Tim Mullen will be assuming leadership of Travel Impressions (TI) as President and CEO. John Hanratty, former Executive VP and General Manager of TI, who reported to Mullen under the Apple Leisure Group umbrella, will be leaving to join The Mark Travel Corporation, the company reports.

At The Mark Travel Corporation Hanratty will lead the establishment of a newly formed groups division as well as oversee the engagement strategy and direction for Travel Agency distribution of The Mark Travel Corporation's managed brands. John will work collaboratively with Mike Going, who is responsible for the owned brands including Funjet Vacations, Blue Sky Tours, and TNT Vacations.

John will join the organization on October 21.

The Apple Leisure Group’s (ALG) commitment to maintaining Travel Impressions’ award-winning service to travel agents and their customers remains unchanged, the company said in a statement. As previously communicated, TI will continue to sell exclusively through travel agents.

"The leadership at ALG recognizes that the exclusive travel agent distribution channel is foundational to the success of the Travel Impressions brand,” said Mullen. The Apple Leisure Group intends to grow the company by making new exclusive charter airlift available to TI’s customers."

The Travel Impressions and American Express Vacations brands will remain intact and will continue to be managed separately from Apple Vacations, while co-existing within the Apple Leisure Group portfolio, the company said.

On June 30, Apple Leisure Group completed its acquisition of Travel Impressions, a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Express Travel Related Services in the U.S., as well as American Express’ international tour operator business in Mexico.  

Completion of the transaction for American Express international tour operator businesses in the UK and Netherlands expected to follow in the next few weeks, Apple said.
