Panorama Mountain Village in British Columbia, Canada, officially opens for the winter season on Friday, December 9.
A new Snow Tube Park was added to Panorama’s family amenities so sliding can continue on into the night. The Snow Tube Park, located at the base of the mountain, is steps away from Panorama’s slopeside accommodations, and features multiple lanes and conveyor lift access via the Red Carpet.
Panorama Mountain Village also hosts four themed festivals: Mountain Snowflake Festival – January 21-22, 2012; Mountain Mardi Gras – February 25-26, 2012; the Western themed Mountain Stampede – March 17-18, 2012; and Mountain Spring Carnival – April 7-8, 2012.
Skiers and riders venturing into Taynton Bowl’s expansive big mountain terrain, known for holding untracked powder for days after a storm, can take advantage of even more fresh tracks with added glading and pruning.
Panorama also added the Rockstar Terrain Park’s permanent skier and boarder cross track. The newly extended banked track runs from the top of the park and leads skiers and snowboarders to the medium and large features in the lower half of the park.
Other enhancements to the mountain include trail widening on Stumbock’s, a fall line thrill ride where skiers and riders can let their boards run on the steep. The Pine Inn has also been redecorated and refurbished with new carpets, beds and updated bathrooms.
Also Panorama Mountain Village offers a ski packages including the family ski package starting at $126 per person per night where kids under 12 ski, stay, eat and play for free.
The package includes five nights accommodation in a slopeside condo or townhouse, lift tickets for two adults and two children for five days of skiing or riding, daily breakfast, unlimited family tobogganing, and free skiing or riding on day of arrival, including night skiing under the lights of the Mile 1 Quad.
The deal is based on double adult occupancy with a minimum five-night stay, extendable for additional nights. The deal is valid for arrivals from January 1 to Februaru. 11, and February 20 to April 10, 2012. Upgrades to other accommodation are available.
