Greater Fort Lauderdale CVB Appoints New Domestic Sales Associate

CBRE Group facilitated the deal between the seller and Tavistock Development Company, and the hotel and Pier Sixty-Six Marina will continue to be operated by Interstate Hotels & Resorts.

The Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau (GFLCVB) has welcomed Gonzalo Rubio to its tourism sales team as the new domestic sales associate. He will be handling the domestic market with Caitlan Etchevers, the director of domestic sales, attending trade shows and sales missions. Rubio will work with travel agents, airlines, and cruise lines to promote GFLCVB’s unique selling points.

“We’re really excited to have Gonzalo join our tourism sales team in this newly created role,” said Fernando Harb, vice president of tourism sales for the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau. “His strong background and experience in sales and the hotel industry will be paramount to helping further grow our domestic sales.”

Prior to joining GFLCVB, Rubio held sales positions with Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica, The St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort, and Walt Disney World Swan Resort. He has also worked with Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort and Hyatt Place Orlando/Universal. He received his bachelor’s degree in hospitality management for the University of Central Florida.
