Ramada Worldwide, part of Wyndham Hotel Group, will launch two new hotels in China— the 255-room Ramada Plaza Dazu and the 250-room Ramada Plaza Hechuan, both in the Chongqing municipality.

Developed under franchise agreements with Chongqing Huadi Wangchao Hotel Co., Ltd., the two hotels will add to the Ramada brand’s growing portfolio in China, currently consisting of 36 hotels located in key cities and provinces throughout the country.

“The Ramada brand is currently Wyndham Hotel Group’s second largest brand in China and, as such, plays a vital role in our efforts to expand and gain market share in the country,” said Tom Monahan, Wyndham Hotel Group executive vice president of international development.

Over the past year, the Ramada brand has executed contracts for the development of more than eight hotels in China, including, most recently, the 1000-room Ramada Hotel and Suites Boao in the Hainan province.

The nine-story Ramada Plaza Dazu is expected to open in the first quarter of 2010. The hotel will feature 255-rooms (33 of which will be suites), two restaurants, two bars, an executive lounge, business center, fitness center, swimming pool and sauna. The hotel will also feature 15,000 square-feet of meeting space and a 6,000 square-foot ballroom, accommodating up to 450 guests.

The nine-story Ramada Plaza Hechuan is expected to open by the end of the third quarter this year and will features 250-rooms (31 of which will be suites), and the same amenities as the Ramada Plaza Dazu. The hotel will also feature 13,000 square-feet of meeting space and a 6,500 square-foot ballroom, accommodating up to 500 guests.
