Accor Simplifies Agency Shopping with Sabre Direct

Accor Hospitality, with more than 4,000 properties, has upgraded to the Sabre Global Distribution System’s Direct Connect XML (DCX) direct connect booking platform. Accor is one of Sabre Hospitality’s largest participating companies in Europe.

As an additional benefit of DCX, Accor Hospitality has upgraded the RT chain code to enable Sabre agents to obtain the most current rates and availability directly from the Accor Central Reservation System (CRS) at the time of the shopping request. This simplifies the shopping process for travel agents and secures instantaneous updates of the Accor inventory.

Sabre reports the switch to DCX was successfully completed in January 2010 and makes Accor the first European hotel chain to take advantage of this new Sabre Hospitality Solutions interface which uses XML technology.

“It is our strategy to make Accor brands easier to sell for the travel agency community while improving connectivity with all GDSs,” said Christine Pouletty, senior vice president distribution and revenue development for Accor.
