Airline Reporting Corporation Helix Program Gains Strength

Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) reports that more than 200 home-based and retail travel agencies have joined its Helix program since its launch in February. ARC revealed the updated membership figure at the inaugural Helix Regional Symposium, held on July 15 in Philadelphia and attended by  more than 40 Helix members from across the mid-Atlantic region.

“I thought the Helix Symposium was great!” said Tracy Richmond, co-owner of Rich Events, a Philadelphia-based events planning and travel association. “The small group size made the event more intimate and easier for our questions to be answered. Also, the speed dating concept with the suppliers was a fantastic idea.”

Attendees at the symposium learned marketing tips and the importance of client relationship management from Joanie Ogg, an industry leader and principal owner of Joanie Ogg Marketing. Helix members also had the opportunity to hear motivational speaker Nolan Burris on  the Internet and use of social media.

“The Symposium was very valuable and gave us the opportunity to inform the agents what we have to offer,” commented Shemain Grasso, director, national accounts at Regent Seven Seas Cruises, a Helix Preferred Supplier. “The agents we met are lucky to be a part of Helix, and the program itself is very refreshing for us as suppliers.”

The next Helix Symposium will be held in Chicago on September 23.

The Helix program is for home-based and retail travel agencies. It offers a preferred supplier portfolio covering all segments of travel, multiple business services, and the professional education and training opportunities to assist agencies in operating more efficiently and becoming more profitable. Helix currently features more than 30 preferred suppliers in its portfolio.
