ALTOUR, one of the largest independent agencies specializing in meeting the needs of high-end and mid-market travelers, is holding a grand re-opening of its New York City Lexington Avenue office, which formerly operated as American Express prior to its recent acquisition by ALTOUR.
In addition to travel planning, ALTOUR American Express offers foreign currency exchange, travel insurance, a client referral program as well as the services of a 24-hour, 365-day Travel Service Center to assist clients anywhere in the world. The Grand Re-Opening celebration will feature special offers and discounts on travel packages, ALTOUR says.
Established in 1991 by Alexandre Chemla, ALTOUR has grown with a travel volume of over $800 million. It is among the largest agencies serving the luxury and mid-market travel niches today with 75 offices and more than 1,000 travel professionals throughout the United States and in Europe.
Complementing its core travel management business, ALTOUR has developed a family of companies including Altour Limousine, Altour Air, Altour Travel Master, Altour Incentive Management, and Altour Management Technology.
In 2009, ALTOUR signed a joint program with American Express Travel. The agreement is designed to strengthen and expand services for the American Express U.S. Representative Travel Network and ALTOUR’s travelers around the globe. ALTOUR also acquired 12 American Express travel service offices geographically spread throughout the United States.
