Greek and Turkish cruise supplier easyCruise has partnered with technology provider Amadeus in order to grow through more bookings via travel agents and to reduce its dependency on direct-consumer purchases. In addition to distributing through Amadeus, executives at easyCruise say they plan to step up the company's marketing to travel agencies.

The deal makes easyCruise available to more travel agents through the Amadeus system for the UK and U.S. markets. Part of Stelios Haji-Ioannou's easyGroup, which also includes easyJet and easyHotel, easyCruise is now distributed on the browser-based Amadeus Cruise desktop applications for travel professionals and as the Cruise Application Programming Interface for online sales.
Amadeus Cruise, which now offers 19 cruise lines, saw a 20 percent growth in bookings in 2008 over 2007.
