ARC Reports 25.6 Percent Increase in Sales

The Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) reported good news as total sales for May 2010 hit $7.08 billion, a 25.69 percent gain, while year to date ARC reports total sales of $34,065 billion, a 21.63 percent gain. Total transactions were up to 12,783,805, a 4.94 percent gain and year-to-date up to 65,094,897, a 9.18 percent gain.

Domestic fares hit $3,047,433,295, a 22.14 percent increase ,while international fares soared to $2,964,581,703, a 32.56 percent gain. Total taxes and fees were pegged at $986,162,927, a 19.03 percent increase. Domestic transactions hit 9,086,657, a 2.91 percent gain and international transactions were 3,697,148, a 10.26 percent gain.

The average daily sales by ARC-accredited agency locations hit $13,158 with 15,457 agency locations reporting. Satellite locations (STP) totaled 893 and ARC VTC locations continued to grow reaching 1,008. Total carriers: 187.
