ASTA Unveils 07's Most Booked Destinations

Orlando, Las Vegas and New York City once again are the most popular domestic destinations, while London, Rome and Cancun, took the top international honors, according to a survey of 389 agencies released by the American Society of Travel Agents on Monday. Honolulu, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Miami, San Diego, Seattle and Washington, D.C. rounded out the top 10 domestically. ASTA noted that though the cities did not change compared to 2006, the ranking differs slightly, with Honolulu moving ahead of San Francisco and Seattle jumping ahead of Washington, D.C. Internationally, Paris, Jamaica, Punta Cana, Florence, Puerto Vallarta, Venice and Frankfurt closed the top-10 list. London, Rome, Cancun and Paris for the last five years have held steady in the top four, although when the data is examined by region and country, Italy emerges as the top destination, ASTA said.
