Co-president of Valerie Wilson Travel Joins Collette Vacations’ Board

Collette Vacations recently announced the appointment of Jennifer Wilson-Buttigieg to a position on its board of advisors.

Wilson-Buttigieg, co-president and co-owner of Valerie Wilson Travel, Inc., a company she joined in February 1991, is responsible for the overall strategy of the family owned business. Wilson-Buttigieg manages the business development, sales, operational, administrative and technology functions at one of the largest women-owned and family-managed travel consulting businesses in the U.S. She works to grow all business sectors and expand strategic marketing alliances.

Her views are often solicited for national publications and broadcast news panels, including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Condé Nast Traveler and Nightly Business. She has been named as one of the top Travel Specialists for Business Travel by Condé Nast, six years consecutively (2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006 and 2005) and listed on the Travel + Leisure A-List in a new category for Business Travel in both 2009 and 2010.

Recently Wilson-Buttigieg received the Barbara O’Hara Advocacy Award by The Interactive Travel Services Association (ITSA). This esteemed award is presented each year by ITSA to the ASTA member who has made the most significant contribution in advocating for the interests of the travel agency community before federal, state and/or local governmental authorities.

Her many philanthropic commitments include community involvement with The Reformed Church of Bronxville, New York, and an advisory board membership for The Collette Foundation, an employee-run, global initiative whose mission is to improve the quality of life of children worldwide. Wilson-Buttigieg is also on the board of directors for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Metro New York.
