The carrier on Wednesday announced it filed an application to be listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol "DAL." Should the application be approved, the once-bankrupt carrier said it expects to begin trading stock by early May. Edward H. Bastian, Delta's executive vice president and chief financial officer, called the move a "significant milestone" to becoming a healthy competitor.
