Expedia CruiseShipCenters Takes New Approach to Training

Expedia CruiseShipCenters is taking a new approach to training, stressing professional development rather than product knowledge.

"Whether you're new to the travel industry or have been in the business for years, you have the same expectation when attending a training event: teach me something I don't already know. It's with this mentality that Expedia CruiseShipCenters planned our upcoming Cruise to Success training rallies for our 3,000 plus Cruise Consultants across North America," ECSC said. “Now that most cruise lines have developed their own comprehensive online training tools for agents to learn the ins and outs of their products, our agents asked us to focus their professional development less on what to sell and more on how to sell."

The lineup of speakers at ECSC’s upcoming rally will include keynote presentations from T.C. Phelps, regional trainer for Celebrity Cruises; and inspirational speaker Carol Anne Cole, founder of the Comfort Heart initiative, which has raised more than $1 million for breast cancer research.

Interspersed with supplier networking opportunities and updates from ECSC’s Corporate Support Team, the full-day agenda aims to help agents increase confidence in their sales abilities and a renew their passion for providing exceptional customer service to their clients.
