Genesis to Launch Product That Bypasses Some Booking Fees

Genesis Travel says it will launch a new program allowing agents to avoid booking fees for airline segments booked with non-preferred GDS systems. It is calling the new product Preferred Channel Selector, and plans to launch it Aug. 29. Officials for Genesis are saying that the Preferred Channel Selection allows agencies to "bypass their primary GDS and access a preferred distribution channel without " actually belonging to that GDS. Costs include a one-time $150 implementation fee, and a $50 monthly charge for the primary license. Additional licenses are available at $15 per month.
