Gillian Gibson has been named chief marketing officer for Travelport. Prior to joining Travelport, Gillian spent almost eight years with Amadeus IT Group in a variety of senior global commercial roles, most recently as group vice president of the Multinational Customer Group. Her responsibilities included building new market development strategies and managing large cross-functional teams.
She began her career as a buyer with General Motors Inc., before moving to National Westminster Bank PLC and becoming IT purchasing manager in 1996 to join MasterCard subsidiary Mondex International Limited, as Head of Strategic Alliances. She was appointed Commercial Director in 1999. A graduate of Liverpool John Moores University, in 2010 Gibson successfully completed the Sloan Fellowship Leadership and Strategy Program at the London Business School.
“She will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of top line growth through the deployment and commercialisation of key products like Travelport Universal API and Travelport Universal Desktop and I am delighted to welcome her to the team,” said Gordon Wilson, president and CEO of Travelport GDS.
