On London's Oxford Street, near Buckingham Palace, The Cumberland welcomes Tim Cordon as general manager, appointed by Guoman Hotels for immediate effect. With more than 10 years in developing flagship properties of the Radisson SAS portfolio, highlights of Cordon's career include the Radission Blu Portman Square, also in London.
At The Cumberland, he will develop the hotel's draw and guest experience, including its accommodations of suites and apartments, meetings and events space and Carbon Bar. Cordon's appointment follows former general manager Stuart Chappell's leave to oversee Guoman Hotels' Beijing property, set to open in 2011.
Highlights of the hotel include Michelin-starred Gary Rhodes' restaurant, Rhodes W1, The Market and Kua Bar and Lounge.
