Time to take back the weekend! According to a national survey conducted by Hampton Hotels, nearly two in three Americans (63%) don’t get to do what they want on the weekends. To help travelers embrace their break from the work week, Hampton Hotels has launched the "Embrace Your Weekend Self" campaign. The hotel chain has partnered up with Travelista TV's Teri Johnson and Buzzfeed to help travelers identify and embrace their weekend identities.
Using their survey as a foundation for the campaign, Hampton identified the barriers that many Americans face when trying to enjoy their weekend and what sacrifices they would make to be able to embrace it more fully. Results revealed that 79% would skip popular activities in exchange for a 3 day getaway, while one-third would take a pay cut for their weekend to be three days long.
To aid travelers discover their weekend identity, Hampton and Buzzfeed have created the “What’s Your Ideal Weekend Getaway?” quiz. Partakers just answer a series of questions and receive their perfect weekend getaway along with some travel tips.
To help travelers determine their weekend identities so they can better enjoy the weekend, Hampton has partnered with BuzzFeed to create the “Participants can take the quiz to receive destinations and travel tips specific to their weekend selves.
On Monday morning, we want people talking about the fun experiences they had over the weekend, not the chores they did or the errands they ran. That’s why we’re encouraging consumers to take back their weekends and embrace their true weekend selves.” said Judy Christa-Cathey, vice president, focused service brand marketing, Hilton Garden Inn and Hampton Hotels.

Travel expert Teri Johnson also shared some of her travel tips so travelers can get the most of their time off, including saving money by choosing hotels with free amenities like Wi-Fi and breakfast and creating a summer getaway checklist to plan the weekend adventures you’ve always been meaning to do.
This summer travelers will also have the chance to win free nights at the Hampton or gift cards to experience their favorite events, all they have to is share their weekend moments on the Hampton Facebook page.
